Where do we stop:
The train will make a short stop at a historic steam engine water tower. While here you are able to get off the train and explore part of the San Isabel National forest! There is an opportunity to take a look into the cab of the engine and even walk through a vintage caboose!
When to book:
Our Fall Special Weekends are some of our most popular trips of the year and will sell out. We suggest booking as soon as possible to secure your date.
What class of service is best:
We offer two types of seating on our Fall Rides. Coach seating, seated first come first serve, is not heated. However we do have open, and Semi enclosed cars for you to choose from. Given that our weather can be slightly unpredictable in the fall we do suggest you bring appropriate clothing for 11,000 ft. Generally extra layers, gloves, hats and even a blanket are a good idea. Lastly if you would prefer to have a reserved seat booking in our Lounge Car is the way to go. These are limited so making reservations early is a good idea. We cant wait to have you on board with us! Lounge Cars
Can We Bring our Dogs?
While we do allow dogs on the train in our coach seating our Fall trips are generally very busy. This means that your dog will potentaily be around lots of people, kids and other dogs. If that sounds like something that your dog would love then please bring them on board. We will have a waver for you to sign for them to sign. If however you think they might enjoy a different experience there are two places in town that do doggie day care. One is Mountain Dog Romp and Comp and the Other is Grateful Paws. Both are linked below. Please note these places may require meet and greets and reservations.
