two Lounge car seating is a different way to experience the Leadville Railroad. Enjoy a fully enclosed train car with booth seating, each table has a large window that you can open at your convenience. We have two top tables which seat 1-2 people, and we have four top tables which seat 1-4 people. Tickets for most rides are sold per person at $86.00 For our Summer and Fall rides staff will assign lounge car seating the morning of your ride and when you pick up your physical tickets you will receive your assigned seats. See below for information on our Holiday Express and Winter Express tours. We strive to provide a lounge car attendant for each ride who will assist in purchasing and delivering concessions sold on board our train, or answering questions you may have throughout the trip. In certain cases we may not be able to provide an attendant for every trip. In this instance we invite patrons to head to the boxcar to purchase snacks and drinks.
The lounge car seats are reserved but we do allow you to walk in to the open air cars during the trip to take photos and enjoy the clean mountains air.
During our Holiday Express and Winter Express tours we have three options for lounge cars. The Black Car, Red Car, and Mint Car. The Black Car is located closer to the boxcar where you can purchase snacks drinks and souvenirs, and the Mint Car is located closer to the restrooms. There is no other difference in the cars except the color of the seats. If you have a preference or need handicap seating please note it in the comments section of your reservation and our staff will do their best to accommodate your request.
We offer a wide variety of snacks and drinks on board. Think of food that you would find at a local baseball game, chips, candy, soda and hot and cold drinks. Some of our most popular items include our creamy and rich hot chocolate, First Cast IPA from Elevation Brewing, Milehigh Mule, Coke products, and our famous fresh popped popcorn!
